THUMBS UP TO THIS WEEK'S 8DAYS ISSUE.

Really got to read it. the blue cover with Jade Seah on it.
The cover story is about Jade Seah's comments on English, Singlish and Manglish.
Basically, Singlish is all the la leh lor, and Manglish is all about direct translation of Mandarin to English.
Also, one thing that i agree with her the most, is the grammar.
MANY MANY MANY AND COUNTLESS of you do that though..
Me included, but i'll try not to.

On pg 31 of it, there's this "finally, in some cases, Singlish can be superior to English; powerful examples of how economical we can be."
There's this classic quote.
Instead of saying "I simply must disagree with you on the arguments you've made.", you say, "Talk cock lah, you!"
ROFL.

Also, on the last page, also my favourite column...
It's about Malaysian wanting to claim back their dishes.
and the 7th one was really OMG SELF-PWN.
"Okay, if Singapore stole Hainanese chicken rice from Malaysia, then Malaysia stole it from Hainan Island first."
M'sia just got pwned, you know?
I wouldn't call them SINGAPORE DISHES though.
Most people come from China then, and we'd be stealing it from China? wtf?
and the other example is super LOL

It's actually indirectly shooting at M'sians coming to Singapore, and i have generally no comments about it :)
